This was Rockvotes Software’s first ever project back in 2012. Evidence Based Educational Consulting specialise in teacher coaching and training, and came with a vision of a portable tool to track a wide variety of metrics around classroom teaching strategy, that could allow for easy observation, as well as collation to quickly and effectively provide feedback to the teacher as part of their coaching journey.
The iPad was still a reasonably new product at the time, but it was clearly the perfect device for the job. An MVP was swiftly prepared and made available through the App Store. Partner satisfaction lead to a vastly improved version being built the following year.
The product and the partnership have rolled on ever since, with regular enhancements and visual improvements over the years, to keep up the app feeling modern and delivering the best possible outcomes to its users.

Rockvotes Software has enjoyed a long partnership with the University of Melbourne, working together on a number of different products, the main focus of these being in-class assessment and examination tools, specifically designed for ease of use, and providing timely student feedback.
This partnership began in 2013 when we developed a tool for providing rapid feedback to students giving oral presentations within the (then named) Melbourne School of Engineering.
The success of this product spawned a collection of similar assessment tools used by a variety of university departments, before a second iteration of the concept was designed and built in 2016. This version was focussed specifically on assessing practical examinations of students in health sciences.
The second iteration was quickly adopted within the majority of health science departments, and the school of dentistry.
In 2018 Rockvotes Software provided a blueprint for a more ambitious 3rd incarnation of this assessment tool, which was built the following year. This version provided a vastly greater degree of control for its users in terms of assessment design and marking. It also leveraged Apple specific technologies to provide safe and secure transmission of assessment and result data between authorised devices, even if internet communication was not available.
The pandemic, and resulting changes to university priorities has limited further development, but this version of the application is still used within several departments.

The partnership also yielded a number of short lived, specific purpose products over the years. The most interesting being a student-facing veterinary science quiz app developed from from 2015-2018, and a sports centre app that allowed university sports clubs to easily collect and collate information about prospective members, used 2015-2019.
